Illinois has had an exciting year. The statewide siting legislation is about two years old and local authorities have taken multiple approaches at implementing it. County permit denials have generated numerous lawsuits testing the boundaries of the siting legislation. The General Assembly has entertained further trailers to the siting legislation and additional amendments to the Public Utilities Act. This session will review the status of local siting and zoning, legislation and litigation in Illinois related to solar and battery and will discuss what may be on the horizon.
